Making your own treats at home can be quick and simple, even if cooking is not really your thing. It also has some advantages over providing store-bought treats. This handy little booklet contains 8 simple treat recipes created especially for your pooch. There is something for everyday snacking, training treats and special occasions too.

Recipes include a range of nutritious ingredients including;

Carrots – great source of vitamin A, potassium and fibre. Also add sweetness, which dogs often like!
Peas – as well as being a good source of protein, peas contain iron, zinc, potassium and magnesium.
Parsley – contains anti-oxidants and can help soothe arthritis. May also freshen bad breath
Sweetcorn – contains linoleic acid, which is good for their coat and skin, as well as vitamins A and E
Eggs – high in protein, fatty acids and vitamins A and B12
Cheese – contains protein, vitamin A and calcium. Soft cheese contains lactose, so be careful if your dog is lactose-intolerant
Tuna – a good source of protein and omega 3 fatty acids. Choose skipjack tuna and feed in small amounts only, such as in treats
Sardines – an oily fish containing plenty of protein, vitamin D, vitamin B12 and calcium
Oats – can be used for dogs who are sensitive to wheat or rice. Contains vitamin B and linoleic acid
Cornmeal – full of protein for muscles and carbohydrates for energy. Often used in gluten-free diets
