Terms and conditions

By booking the services of Jill Woodman Canine Care (JWCC) you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

Bookings:

At your initial consultation you will be required to complete a Canine Care Agreement, including details of your veterinary practice, a nominated emergency contact and a disclaimer for the use of JWCC’s services.  You will also be required to pay a £10 non-refundable deposit which will be offset against the cost of the services booked.

Ad-hoc bookings must be paid for on or before the day.  Regular bookings can be invoiced weekly or monthly, depending on the frequency of visits required.  This will be agreed at your initial consultation.  JWCC regrets that services cannot continue to be offered if invoices are not paid on time.  We reserve the right to cancel your booking in the case of repeated late payment or failure to pay for the services provided.

Cancellations and alterations to your booking:

JWCC reserves the right to cancel an appointment at any time and with immediate effect if the dog does not respond well to the walker, in the case of unforeseen circumstances or any other reason which may apply.

Should you need to cancel or reschedule an ad-hoc booking, you are required to provide 48hrs notice in order to avoid being charged.  For regular bookings, 14 days’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule your appointments. If insufficient notice is provided all bookings will be charged at the full price.

You will advise JWCC immediately should you need to self-isolate due to possible COVID19 infection, other communicable illness of yourself or any illness of the dog which may pose a risk to the walker or other animals they come in contact with.  JWCC cannot be held responsible for any illness or other health condition that may be deemed to have arisen as a result of a service provided to you.

Although the full visit time will always be offered where possible, a walk may be reduced in length if deemed necessary due to adverse conditions such as unsuitable weather or any risk to the dog or the walker.

Dog walking and access to your property:

All walks will be on a 1 to 1 basis and begin from your property, taking an appropriate route for the dog’s needs. Your dog will be walked on-lead unless expressly requested by you as the owner.  In this case, you agree to retain full responsibility under the law for any incident resulting for the dog being allowed off-lead.  Allowing the dog off-lead on any particular walk will be at the discretion of the walker.

JWCC cannot be held liable for any damage or injury caused by your dog and nor held responsible for injury caused by the dog to itself or by being attacked by another dog or other party. The owner accepts full liability for any loss or damage caused by their dog being walked.

JWCC will aim to follow your instructions regarding access to and security of your property as closely as possible.  We cannot be held responsible for any incidents that may occur or losses sustained from the property caused by your pets or any third party, while service are being provided.

Insurance and emergencies:

JWCC holds full insurance for the operation of the business, including £10m Public Liability Insurance and cover for loss of keys to your property.  We cannot be held responsible for any loss, injury or death to a dog, or damage caused by the dog, at any point during the provision of services, whether on your property or during a walk.

 In case of emergency, JWCC will make every attempt to contact you or your emergency contact personally and arrange emergency veterinary care for your dog.  You agree to reimburse JWCC for any resulting expenses incurred on your behalf, and compensation for any other appointments which have to be cancelled in order to deal with the emergency at the usual rate for those bookings.
